TRUMPETER
705381 1:350 Italian Heavy Cruiser Pola RN Pola heavy cruiser was the fourth ship of the Italian Navy's Zara class heavy cruisers and was a major warship during World War II. The Zara class heavy cruiser was born under the restrictions of the Washington Treaty, developed by Italy to balance firepower and armor. Although the treaty stipulates that the displacement of newly built ships shall not exceed 10000 tons, the Zara class achieved a final displacement of about 11000 tons and a main armor belt thickness of 150 millimeters through optimized armor layout and military equipment configuration, far exceeding similar ships of the same period. In the early stages of World War II,RN Pola as the flagship of the Italian Third Cruiser Squadron, frequently carried out escort and patrol missions. In March 1941, she participated in the Battle of Cape Matapan. Due to a power system malfunction, she left the formation and was ambushed by the British fleet at night. She was sunk by the battleship's main guns and torpedoes.
